About Us

A Brief History

There’s a lot to know about METRO, but the most important thing to remember is we’re your bus company. METRO transports more than six million passengers annually to work, to school, to medical appointments and to some of the best places in town. Traveling today is worlds apart from what it was like in the mid-1800s. Instead of catching the Route #6 bus to Lakemore for a smooth journey, a day trip back then meant a wobbly ride in a mule-drawn cart. But, we all have to start somewhere! From the first public transit system of a few mule-drawn carts to a fleet of 188 passenger revenue vehicles, METRO RTA has a rich and detailed history in Summit County. METRO Regional Transit Authority enhances the quality of life for our community by providing innovative transportation that is safe, dependable, cost-effective and customer-focused... now and into the future.

Advertise on METRO

When you advertise on a bus, your problems are solved. We literally take your message to your target audience. Buses travel through neighborhoods, shopping malls, down major expressways and into virtually every area around town. Drivers and pedestrians see your message. If you advertise inside the bus, every rider will see your message and have repeated exposure to it.

METRO will post on this website when we are seeking bidders for specific services or products. Each item will have its own deadline, requirements and specifications.
